Pyli

Pyli is a rather large village located in the middle of Kos Island.

Like Zia, Pyli contains a few taverns in a traditional Greek style. Here you can also see Pyliotiko Spiti (Pylis House), a small house where they tried to recreate scenes of life 70-80 years ago.

Another attraction of the village is Palio Pyli, a small half-ruined 11th century Byzantine castle located 3-4 km south of Pyli. In Byzantine times it was regarded as the capital of Kos Island until 1830 when local inhabitants left the place because of the cholera epidemic.

The village also offers breathtaking views of the whole Kos Island.
